It is with deep regret and sorrow that the Trustees have to announce for the first time in over forty years the cancellation of our annual seminar
This course of action has been forced upon us due to declining support year on year by the Food Standards Agency & Meat Hygiene Service and this year a total lack of support by these agencies. This has been coupled with the withdrawal of our two largest contractor agency supporters which they inform us is in part due to the economic down turn, and to the uncertainty of their situation with new meat inspection contracts not being announced until October of this year, this reduction of over 50% in delegate attendance makes the event unsustainable.
We the Trustees believe that attending our seminar should be (as it has in past years) a fulfilling and enjoyable experience for all our delegates, speakers and exhibitors, which promotes Food Hygiene /Animal Welfare, while giving Continuing Professional Development to those attending. Given the present situation we do not believe this can be achieved with the reduced numbers of delegates.
All the trustees would like to apologise for having to take this course of action but would emphasise it is due to circumstances completely outside of our control, and that we will ensure the return of any monies received for advance bookings.
